I had my first audition on Wednesday. It was interesting – not quite what I was expecting but it did the job and broke the ice. My slate wasn’t quite right (I got caught up on semantics), which I fretted over after. I walked around Vancouver for a bit afterwards to clear my head. Vancouver is, by the way, becoming a second home to me. Strangely enough, I had mixed feelings about it when I first visited but the more I go, the more I love it. Anyway after clearing my head, I decided that the audition went positively AND the juice fast and spa day made me feel chic from head to toe. That’s not to say I’ll get the part but I feel ready, and excited, to do another audition.
After last week’s bloggers block I’ve been trying to get back into the creative swing of things. Today I came across several food blogging sites. It’s staggering to see just how many people share the dream of hosting their own TV show. There are people (non-famous) with 100,000+ Facebook likes and Twitter followers – how amazing! I could spend countless hours worrying about my numbers but honestly there’s no point. I have to focus my energy on “Doing” not “Worrying”. And my “Doing” right now means being the best I can at every audition, every meeting, every collaboration.
Speaking of collaboration, my meeting yesterday with a potential collaborator went well (I don’t want to mention names as yet). He’s super talented and I’m really looking forward to working with him and his partner. My hope is that between my agent, auditions and photo shoots, and collaborating with other artists on their projects, I’ll begin to make my name across the media and entertainment spectrum!
